For the past three months I’ve been working in Pune, India. It’s been challenging and rewarding work. India has become very dear to me. Will surely come back. Heading back to London for now.

It’s been well over a year since I’ve been able to find enough free time to help any musician build an iPhone app. It was lots of fun and a great learning experience, but I simply don’t have the time to help out. There are plenty of alternatives out there with very dedicated developers as well as cool services.

If you find problems with an existing app, it’s likely because the feeds are now down. Unfortunately, I don’t have the time to maintain those either. Hope you enjoyed the apps.

More of a mental note… I had used xxd in the past to hexdump to a header file. Can be handy to compile files into binaries:

xxd -i somefile.ext

gives you something like this:

I’m far from a decent touch typist, but have gotten better over the years. ztype can be fun and helpful. Looks like Typing of the dead is a popular one too…

photo smuggler now supports facebook pages

Lots of Photo Smuggler users have been requesting fb page support. Spent some time adding this feature recently. Haven’t tested it throughly, but seems to work so far.

While playing around with ImageMagick (imagick and rmagick), wrote a little facebook app. P-tiles generates a profile pic mosaic, using your friends’ pics as tiles. Magic toolbox donated magic zoom, which gave it a nice touch.

P-tiles is hosted on a linode vps. Had been meaning to try them out. So far, so good. Had been a slicehost fan for years, but it was time to try something new.
